PL week 1

Vlak voor ik moest werken, kwam de postbode langs met een pakket foto's. Daarbij ook een paar foto's voor mijn eerste week van de Project Life.
Hier zie je mijn uitwerking voor PL week 1.

Right before I had to go to work, the mailman came by to deliver a package full of pictures. And with those there were a few pictures for the first week of Project Life.
So here is my first week of my PL.

Witte zwaan

Van de week begonnen aan deze layout. Op het bsff forum was er een challenge om een bepaald kleurenpalet te gebruiken. Heb lang met de layout zitten stoeien, maar dit is het dan geworden. Weet nog niet of ik er zo tevreden mee ben, maargoed.....

This week I started with this layout. On the bsff forum there was a challenge to use a certain color palette. I struggled a while with this layout, but this is how it finally turned out. I don't know if I'm fully content with it, but okay..... 

Week 1, Grateful album

Zoals ik al eerder vertelde en al liet zien, ben ik vanaf dag 1 van 2012 begonnen met een 'dankbaarheids' boekje. Elke dag schrijf ik op waar ik dankbaar voor ben.
Hier een overzicht van week 1.

As I told and showed earlier, I started from the first day of 2012 a 'grateful' mini album. Every day I write in it what I am grateful for.

Zo, ben lekker op dreef. Hier nog de nieuwste pagina van het albumpje. De sketch nummer 189 van Creative Scrappers.  En nu lekker eten, want heb trek gekregen van al dat harde werken :P

So, I can't stop I guess. Here the newest page for the mini album. The sketch I used is number 189 from  Creative Scrappers. And now I'm off to eat, because I got hungry from all that hard work :P

Hydrangea

Vandaag eindelijk even zin om wat te scrappen mét foto's. Zo zag ik een leuke sketch op Sketches in Thyme. Nu heb ik sowieso nog honderden foto's liggen, maar ook nog een stapeltje foto's van toen ik een dagje bij een vriendin was en we nog een stuk hebben gewandeld. Uiteraard ging mijn camera mee, en nu wil ik van die foto's een albumpje maken. Hier de eerste bladzijde ervan.

Today I felt like scrapping with pictures. I saw a great sketch on  Sketches in Thyme.  Well, I do have hundreds of pictures laying around, but I also had a stack of pictures from the time that I was at a friends house, and we went for a walk. Ofcourse my camera went with me, and from those picture I want to make an mini album. Here the first page.

Tutorial for making your own page protectors for PL

Vandaag heb ik zelf nog hoesjes gemaakt voor mijn PL.
Today I made my own page protectors for my PL.




Je neemt van die stevigere hoesjes van de Hema.
Use the firmer protectors from the Hema.




Dan teken je op een A4 vel je indeling die je wilt maken. Je kan dus vanalles en zoveel vakjes maken als je wilt. Ik heb vandaag dan 3 verschillende indeling gemaakt, en het resultaat zie je aan het eind van deze tutorial.
Then take a piece of paper (A4 size) and divide it the way you want it. You can make as many as pockets as you want. Today I made 3 different kinds of pockets, and the result you can see at the end of this tutorial.

Stop het A4 vel in je hoesje en teken de lijnen over met een permanent marker. Haal vervolgens het vel papier er weer uit.
Put this paper in your page protector and draw with a permanent marker over the lines. And then take out the paper again.

Snij dan lijntjes, net onder de lijnen. Want op de getekende lijnen ga je namelijk naaien. Zorg dat ze goed doorgesneden worden, zodat je aan beide kanten de openingetjes hebt. Maar pas op dat je niet te ver snijd bij de randjes.
Cut just beneath the lines. Because at the lines we just drew, you are going to sew. Make sure you cut through both sheets, so there will be openings on both sides. But make also sure you don't cut to far to the edges. 

Doe vervolgens een zwart vel papier in je page protector. Zo krijg je dus aan beide kanten de vakjes die je kan openen.
Then place a black piece of paper in your page protector. That's how you get the pockets on both sides. 

Voer de bodem eerst door de naaimachine. Stik over de getekende lijn heen, en zorg dat je aan het begin en eind ook het draad even achteruit stikt, zodat het draad goed vast blijft zitten. Naai dan de andere lijntjes. Begin dan altijd bij de kant met de gaatjes. Daar is het het stevigst. En gaat het niet bobbelen.
Feed the bottom of the protector through your sewingmachine first. Stitch over the drawn lines, and make sure you secure your thread in the beginning and in the end of the line. 
Then sew the other lines. Start at the side where the holes are. There the protector is the firmest. And it won't start to bubble.

Knip netjes de draadjes af en voila, je hebt je dubbelzijdige zelfgemaakte page protectors klaar. Easy peasy dus.
Cut the strings of and there you go... you made your own double sides home made page protector. Easy peasy!

Project Life

Eerst vond ik het eigenlijk helemaal niets, dat Project life. Maar naarmate ik er steeds meer van zag op het forum en alle enthousiaste verhalen van de medeforummers las..... begon het toch te kriebelen bij me.
Zelf wil ik het dan op A4 formaat doen, lekker tegendraads zeg maar. Ik wil dat hele project dan op mijn manier doen en niet zoals "het zou moeten" volgens de verzinners ervan.

Dus ik naar de Hema, en daar 2 soorten foto mapjes gekocht. En nog losse insteekhoezen. Ook krijg ik nog atc-mapjes thuis (morgen hopelijk) zodat ik toch lekker een variëteit aan vakjes heb. Ook heb ik net nog van die losse insteekhoezen zelf page-protectors gemaakt, met weer andere vormen van indeling. Later daarover een tutorial.

Nou, zonder verdere omhaal, hier de eerste dingen van mijn PL.

At first I didn't like it at all, that Project Life. But when I saw more of it on the forum and read the enthousiastic storues about fellow forummers, I started to want to make one myself too.
My project life is gonna be on a A4 format, love to do things against the grain. I want to do the project my way, and not 'how it should be' according to the people who came up with this idea.


So I went to the Hema, and bought 2 kinds of photo-protectors. And some plain protectors. And I (hope tomorrow) get atc- protectors send home, so I will have a variety of pockets. And I also made my own page-protectors, with other kinds of pockets. I will post a tutorial later about how to do that.


So with no further ado, here the first things for my PL. 






Dit is de voorkant. Er komt nog een foto in het midden van 2012. En in het vakje onderin komt nog een kaart met als onderwerp: Mijn woord voor 2012.
This is the front. In the middle will be a photo about 2012. And in the bottom I will make a card with the subject: My word of 2012.

Dit is de kant achter de voorkant en vanaf hier laat ik de weken lopen. Ik hoop 2 pagina's per week te doen. Ook is op het scrapforum sinds dit jaar allemaal leuke nieuwe challenges geplaats, welke ik ook ga verwerken in mijn PL. Bijv. de Sunday Choices. Dan krijg je een vraag die je kan beantwoorden.
En op maandag was er je favoriet. Deze maandag ging dat over eten.
This is the side behind the front and from here I want to begin my weeks. I hope to make 2 page's a week. And also on the scrapforum there are new challenges, which I am going to use for my PL.
For example: Sunday Choices. On sunday there is a question you can answer. And on monday there is the favorites. This monday it was about food.

Where you lead.... WAW

Pas vertelde ik jullie dat ik was uitgekozen om te mogen DT-en voor Word Art Wednesday.
En jawel, vandaag mag ik jullie mijn allereerste DT werk laten zien.

De tekst voor deze woensdag is:
'Where you lead, I will follow'. En komt uit het bijbelboek: Ruth 1:16

Ik heb in mijn Faith Art Journal eerst de achtergrond gemaakt. En toen kreeg ik al snel het idee om een hart met vleugels erin te verwerken. Ik heb de gouden gids gepakt en uit het straten gedeelte dan 2 vleugels geknipt. Dit wat met witte verf bewerkt. En vervolgens nog de tekst erbij gedaan.
Het hart met vleugels is voor mij dan symbool voor dat ik God met  heel mijn hart wil volgen. Ik vind het niet altijd makkelijk hoor, maar elke dag mag ik weer opnieuw beginnen bij God. Is dat niet geweldig?

Recently I told you that I was picked to be a DT for Word Art Wednesday.
And yes, today I may show you my very first DT piece.


The scripture for this wednesday is:
Where you lead, I will follow. It comes from the biblebook: Ruth 1:16.


First I started to paint the background in my Faith Art Journal. And very quickly I got the idea to put a heart with wings in it. I took the yellow pages and cut out 2 wings out of the streets section. A bit of white paint on it and then placed the scripture on the page.
The heart with wings is symbolic for me that I want to follow God with all my heart. I don't find it easy all the time, but every day I can start again with God. Isn't that great?
